# Corami

> A remote dev host that runs coding agents on an always-on Linux server while keeping a two-way synced copy of the project on each of your computers.

Corami is a remote development host for coding agents, created by Matteo Ricupero. The agent runs on an always-on Linux server, while every computer you use keeps a real copy of the project folder, synced in both directions. It is currently labeled early and works end to end on a real VPS with a macOS client.

## What It Is

Corami is the host, not the agent. You install OpenCode, Claude Code, Codex or another harness on the server, and Corami keeps the project aligned between that server and your machines. A single `corami` binary acts as the CLI on every machine and as the daemon on the server. Every command accepts `--json`, which is the default without a terminal, so agents can drive it too.

## How Sync and Access Work

Files travel with Mutagen over Tailscale SSH. Dependencies and build outputs such as `node_modules`, `build` and `Pods` stay out of the sync, and each machine regenerates them. Keys and env files sync as part of the folder unless you keep them out in the project. A conflict that cannot be resolved without losing data is held and reported, never overwritten. Nothing is exposed to the public internet: the server, the agent and the previews are reachable only through your Tailscale network.

## A Typical Workflow

You install Corami on a Linux server and on your laptop, then run `corami project add ~/dev/myapp` to copy the project to the server, which becomes the source of truth. Agent edits appear in your local folder as they are saved. If you close the laptop, the agent keeps working on the server. `corami serve 3000` gives a dev server a stable HTTPS address you can open from a phone. Another computer can join with `corami project add ~/dev/myapp --from-server --name myapp`, which brings the same files, uncommitted work included.

## Builds on Clients

Corami installs no toolchain and runs no build. When only a client can do the job, such as Xcode, a simulator or a phone on USB, the agent runs the command there with `corami exec --on`, after `corami exec setup` on that client. What the agent may run is governed by the harness permissions.

## Licensing

Corami uses the Functional Source License 1.1 with Apache 2.0 as the future license. Use, modification and sharing are allowed for any purpose except offering a competing commercial product or service. Each version becomes Apache 2.0 two years after its release.
