# Nitely

> Desktop app and CLI that coordinates Claude Code, Codex and Cursor agents with one backlog, shared workflow rules, cross-vendor review and a decision inbox.

Nitely is a desktop app and command-line tool for running Claude Code, Codex and Cursor agents across several repositories at once. It gives agents a shared backlog and one set of rules for branches, tests, reviews and merging, and surfaces only the decisions that need a human. It is open source under Apache-2.0 and runs on Windows, with macOS listed as next.

## What It Is

Nitely is an orchestration layer for coding agents. Each project has its own issues with kind, priority, evidence and a timeline, and agents claim the most urgent one so two never start the same issue. A per-repo playbook file defines the branch and worktree, the gate that must pass, which vendor reviews whose work, which changes wait for approval, and how landing works.

## How a Change Moves

An agent drafts a goal as ordered issues, which you approve once. Agents work in their own light worktrees, and Codex reviews Claude's changes while Claude reviews Codex's. Serious findings send the work back to the author agent. Landing is the only writer of the integration branch: it takes a lock, rebases, checks that the review covers exactly this change, runs the gate and pushes.

## The Inbox and Live View

The Inbox holds agent questions, approvals, conflicts and stopped lands. Approving and answering happen only in the app, not through any command or tool an agents can run. Overview, Now and Activity show which agent is working on what and what is stuck. Hooks report tool calls, commands and file paths, not prompts or file contents. A paired phone can answer questions and approve changes over Tailscale.

## Setup Path

Running `nitely connect` on a repo creates the project, watches the repo and its worktrees, keeps a playbook and registers an MCP server, hooks and instructions for detected agents at user level, writing nothing into the repo. An optional crew setting lets Nitely run headless agents through the backlog within daily limits and quiet hours. The Windows installer is not code-signed, so SmartScreen warns on first run; the README documents attestation and checksum verification, and building from source with Rust and Node.js is also supported.
