# OpenCode Superapp

OpenCode Superapp is a Codex-inspired desktop application built by MedHue Labs LLC on top of the open-source OpenCode runtime. It brings a complete native Mac workspace to OpenCode — adding local AI, voice, browser automation, computer use, and remote access — while keeping all project data and model traffic on the user's machine. The app is available as a free download with no account required, and an optional one-time purchase unlocks advanced "Superpowers."

## What It Is

OpenCode Superapp is a macOS desktop coding workspace that wraps the OpenCode CLI runtime in a full native UI. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI, despite being inspired by the Codex workflow. The core application is free and supports every provider OpenCode supports — OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, Ollama, and self-hosted OpenAI-compatible endpoints — using the user's own credentials and billing. A one-time purchase unlocks a set of native capabilities called Superpowers.

## Architecture and Local-First Design

The app is built around a strict local-first model:

- No OpenCode Superapp account, no profiles, no passwords, and no behavioral analytics.
- The runtime, projects, local model traffic, and workspace data remain on the user's Mac.
- Cloud-model requests go directly to the selected provider; the app does not proxy them.
- An integrated Ollama engine can be installed and managed from within the app, using a private loopback endpoint and the user's existing local model library.
- Removing the engine preserves the model library.

## Superpowers: The One-Time Unlock

The paid tier, called Superpowers, is a lifetime local unlock for up to five Macs. It adds capabilities that go beyond chat:

- **Browser Automation** — OpenCode can inspect and operate the in-app browser.
- **Native Computer Use** — OpenCode can inspect and operate native macOS apps through guarded tools (requires macOS 15+).
- **Local Dictation** — Private, multilingual speech recognition runs on-device.
- **Remote + Mobile** — A paired phone or browser companion can reach the trusted Mac host through an end-to-end encrypted relay.
- **Supe Realtime Voice** — Speak with the Supe assistant to create, message, monitor, and open durable OpenCode tasks.

All local Superpowers (Browser Automation, Computer Use, Dictation) remain unlocked offline indefinitely. Remote access uses a renewable 30-day entitlement grant.

## Extensibility and Customization

The workspace is designed to be extended by both developers and everyday users:

- Extensions can add commands, right-panel apps, Skills, MCP services, local resources, and local packages.
- Home widgets can be created by describing them to the agent, testing in a live preview, and publishing — with isolated storage and bounded file permissions.
- The Supe assistant character is customizable with 21 app icons, presets, colors, outfit details, scale, and placement.

## Platform and System Requirements

The initial release targets Apple-silicon Macs running macOS 13 or newer. Native Computer Use requires macOS 15 or newer. There is no Windows or Linux version at launch. Phone and browser companions for Remote access consume no desktop activation slots. The app is distributed as a direct download (`.dmg`) from the developer's site.
