seodata.dev is an SEO data API built for AI agents and the people who run them. It returns monthly search volume, cost per click, competition and similar keywords for any keyword in more than 50 countries, through a plain HTTP API and a remote MCP server.

## What It Is

seodata.dev is a keyword data service that lets an agent check real search demand before it writes a post, names a landing page, sizes a market or budgets ads. A lookup returns the keyword, monthly search volume, CPC in USD, competition from 0 to 1, the country, and a list of similar keywords with their own volumes. Each keyword also has a public page showing live numbers.

## How Agents Use It

Agents can read the plain-text docs at llms.txt, call the GET /v1/keyword endpoint, or add the remote MCP server at mcp.seodata.dev/mcp. The MCP tool lookup_keywords accepts up to 25 keywords per call, one country per call, and each keyword counts as one lookup. The site says it works with anything that can make an HTTP request or speak MCP, including Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Gemini, Cursor and Meta Muse.

## Access and Data Sources

The first 20 lookups a day need no key. Registering an email through /v1/register and /v1/verify returns an API key used as a Bearer token, and an agent can complete this flow itself. When a limit is reached the API returns HTTP 429. The vendor says requests are routed to the most reliable available source, including Google Ads data, DataForSEO and SerpApi, with slow-changing data like volume and CPC cached.

## Roadmap

The site lists SERP results (top 10 organic results, city-level targeting) and domain data (traffic estimate, top keywords, backlink count) as coming soon.
