# Specsight

> Product observability platform that reads your codebase and explains every product change in plain language for the whole company.

Specsight is a product observability tool built by Ola Piętka in Poland. It connects read-only to GitHub or GitLab repositories, analyzes the code, and produces a business-level view of the product: features, scenarios, a product map, and a changelog that updates with each release.

## What It Is

Specsight targets product and business roles such as support, sales, marketing, product and leadership rather than engineers. After a project is connected, a first analysis builds a spec of features and plain-English scenarios, and every release on the watched branch updates it automatically. The FAQ states it reads for behaviour rather than syntax, so no list of supported languages applies.

## What It Produces

- A product changelog showing what is new, changed, gone or fixed per release.
- A product map showing how features and user journeys connect.
- A product spec of features and scenarios, which teams can edit or annotate.
- Ask Specsight answers about the product, also reachable from AI assistants through MCP.
- Weekly digests and customer-facing release notes drafted for review and publishing.
- Exports of the spec or single features as PDF, Excel or Markdown.

## Security and Data Handling

According to the FAQ, Specsight reads code but never writes to it, excludes files such as .env, media and lockfiles, and deletes the temporary repository copy after each analysis. Code analysis and text generation use Anthropic's Claude. Organisation data is isolated with row-level security in the database. Members have Admin, Developer, Editor or Viewer roles.

## Current Limits

One project currently maps to one repository; multi-repo projects are described as in progress. Jira, Linear, Confluence and Notion integrations are listed as roadmap items, not yet available.
