# VibesPlug

> Cross-IDE skill collection and CLI that orchestrates specialized AI subagents for full-stack development workflows.

VibesPlug is an open-source, MIT-licensed plugin and CLI by Roedy Rustam that installs a collection of AI agent skills and rules into AI-enabled IDEs. The GitHub README describes version 4.4.1 as a 161-skill swarm architecture coordinated by a "Swarm Director", distributed through npm and GitHub.

## What It Is

VibesPlug is a rules-and-skills toolkit for AI coding environments. Running `vibes-plug init` scaffolds the master rules for the user's IDE, and users can then prompt their IDE's AI chat in natural language without tagging skills manually. The README says the director then runs context discovery, generates PRD and ERD documents, and moves the work through an 8-phase zero-to-prod workflow.

Supported targets listed in the docs include Google Antigravity, Claude Code, Cursor, OpenAI Codex CLI, Windsurf, Trae, VSCode (Cline / Roo Code), Kimi and Kiro. Installation is either global via npm, directly from GitHub with npx, by cloning the repo, or by copying rule files such as `.cursorrules`, `CLAUDE.md` or `.windsurfrules` into a project.

## Skills and Subagents

The skill catalog is grouped by area: frontend and mobile UI, backend and API design, frontier AI/LLM/MCP and multi-agent work, SaaS/fintech/e-commerce, testing and security, and data/media/DevOps orchestration. Five bundled specialist subagents cover architecture, fullstack building, quality gating, fintech payments and MCP engineering. Users can also generate custom subagents with `vibes create-agent`.

## CLI and Quality Gates

The CLI manages skills (`list`, `search`, `add`, `remove`, `recipe`, `docs`) and provides a local web dashboard, `vibes studio`. Quality commands include an anti-slop scanner that detects placeholders, TODOs and empty stubs (with `--strict` and `--fix` modes), a zero-tech-debt audit, a critic review, and `vibes guard` for a CI verification pipeline. A reusable GitHub Action integrates the guard into repositories.

## Engineering Engines and MCP

The README documents six engines: a prompt-cache compiler, an in-memory SQL migration sandbox, an AST symbol and blast-radius query tool, a code-draft arbiter, an invariant verifier that emits SMT-LIB specs, and an ephemeral JavaScript sandbox. A native Model Context Protocol server runs over stdio or SSE and exposes 27 tools, including skill lookup and injection, memory checkpoints, swarm dispatch and graph search. A VS Code and Cursor companion extension can be packaged with `vibes package:vscode`.
