# WPVibe

WPVibe is a WordPress MCP server made by the SeedProd team. It connects a self-hosted WordPress site to AI clients such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Claude Code, so the AI can manage content, media, plugins, themes and WooCommerce in plain English. A small WordPress plugin on the site handles authorization, and users bring the AI subscription they already have.

## What It Is

WPVibe is a general-purpose MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for WordPress, hosted in the cloud and connected to a site via a free WordPress.org plugin. Instead of confining an AI to one page builder, it exposes the primitives a developer uses: the full REST API, 125+ WP-CLI commands emulated in PHP (no SSH needed), theme and plugin files, media, and the WordPress Abilities API. Connection takes three steps: add the server URL to the AI client, sign in with a 6-digit email code, and authorize the site with a one-click Application Password.

## What the AI can do

The toolkit covers creating and editing posts, pages, media, comments, users and taxonomies; running plugin, option and cache management through WP-CLI with dry-run search-replace; and read-only SQL queries. A Theme Builder produces classic Tailwind themes in an isolated draft with a private preview URL before publishing, and backs up the previous theme. Other capabilities include Lighthouse page audits, rendered-HTML inspection, Unsplash stock photo search, WPCode snippets, custom fields exposed to the REST API, and bulk plugin and theme updates across multiple sites. Built-in skills guide the agent for Elementor, Gutenberg, SeedProd, Divi, Beaver Builder, Breakdance, Bricks, Kadence and GeneratePress, and users can save their own skills.

## Safety model

WPVibe states that actions respect WordPress user roles, with powerful operations requiring an administrator. Posts default to draft, deletes go to trash, WP-CLI uses a default-deny allowlist, destructive operations need dry-run preview and approval, and sensitive actions are written to an append-only audit log. Credentials are encrypted with AES-256-GCM.

## Agencies and multi-site use

Connected sites are unlimited on every plan. Agency features documented include client invitations, per-client usage reporting and a white label mode that hides WPVibe from client dashboards.
