Founding Story
Actian traces its roots to the pioneering Ingres research project initiated in 1973 at UC Berkeley. RTI (Relational Technology Inc) was founded in 1980 to commercialize this technology, eventually becoming Ingres Corporation and later rebranding to Actian in 2011.
