Founding Story
AG2's origins date back to 2019 at Microsoft Research with experiments in multi-agent systems and the FLAML library. This evolved into AutoGen, which became one of the most popular multi-agent frameworks. In 2024, the creators launched AG2 as a venture-backed standalone entity to build a complete Agentic Operating System (AgentOS).
