Betterdata
Betterdata builds enterprise synthetic-data infrastructure that converts sensitive real data into high-fidelity, privacy-preserving synthetic data for AI/ML development, analytics, software testing, secure data sharing and compliance. Its stated vision is an open data-sharing economy in which enterprises and governments can use data safely.

Products & Services
Enterprise platform for ingesting structured data, training generative models and generating high-fidelity synthetic tabular, relational and sequential/time-series data. IRG (Incremental Relational Generator) generates relational databases while preserving primary/foreign-key and referential-integrity constraints; the platform also offers quality and privacy assurance reports.
A proprietary/fine-tuned foundation-model capability for tabular synthetic data, including promptable generation and use where customers have little or no source data; the product page says its pre-trained TFM uses more than 1 billion records.
Market Position
Betterdata positions itself as enterprise-grade synthetic-data infrastructure rather than a simple anonymisation tool: it aims to preserve statistical and structural utility while providing privacy controls, quality reports and deployment flexibility from air-gapped/on-premises environments to cloud. Its synthetic-data competitors include DataCebo and MOSTLY AI (both named alongside Betterdata in the DHS synthetic-data contract program); Betterdata differentiates with relational integrity, multiple proprietary model families, a tabular foundation model and strong Singapore public-sector/privacy-engineering credentials.

Founding Story
Betterdata was started in 2021 by Uzair Javaid and Kevin Yee to make data sharing faster and more secure as global data-protection regulation and privacy awareness increased. The initial vision was to use generative AI and privacy engineering to create fictional datasets that retain the structure and utility of real data without exposing individuals, rather than anonymising away useful information.
Business Model
Revenue Model
Enterprise B2B software/platform sales and paid deployments, with sales-led contact/demo access. The platform supports cloud, on-premises and air-gapped enterprise deployments; public self-serve pricing was not shown.
