Blackboard
Blackboard is a self-funded startup lab that builds businesses around good ideas and develops the tools needed to build them. Its public foundation includes Electrobun, a compact cross-platform desktop-app framework, and Dash, a multi-machine workspace for people and AI agents.

Products & Services
Open-source, MIT-licensed framework and toolchain for building, packaging, signing, updating and distributing small cross-platform desktop apps. Supports TypeScript, Zig, Rust, Go and Odin with system webviews, optional Chromium/CEF or WGPU.
A general-purpose desktop and web workspace for projects, terminals, browsers, Git, coding agents, local models and connected Mac, Windows and Linux machines; Dash itself is built with Electrobun.
Open-source hybrid code editor and web browser with WebKit and Chromium tabs, built-in Git/GitHub flows, PTY terminals and local-first AI.
Electrobun 2.0's native CLI for packages, scripts, bundling, pinned toolchains and releases; it includes a lightweight npm-compatible resolver and supports multiple package managers.
Market Position
Blackboard positions Electrobun as a smaller, faster and more integrated alternative to Electron and as a distinct option versus Tauri: it combines system-webview defaults with optional Chromium and WGPU, multiple main-process languages, built-in signing/distribution and very small differential updates. Dash is positioned as a unified alternative to separate IDE, terminal, Git client, remote-machine and AI-agent tools.
Leadership
Founders
Yoav Givati (Yoav / YoavCodes)
Founder of Blackboard. He describes himself as having worked as a founder, CTO, engineering manager and principal engineer, and spent seven years at Webflow, joining when it had 12 people and working on the Rich Text Editor, Multiplayer, Asset Manager, Responsive Images, and data-integrity and migration systems.
Executive Team
Yoav Givati (Yoav / YoavCodes)
Founder
Founder and apparent operator of the self-funded lab; former founder, CTO, engineering manager and principal engineer, with seven years at Webflow and 20+ years as an engineer and engineering leader according to the Electrobun 2.0 launch post.
Founding Story
Yoav says he is self-funding Blackboard with a long view: build ambitious products, develop the tools they need, and help other builders. Electrobun began while building an early version of Dash: frustrated by Electron's size, performance and distribution costs, he built a smaller framework with differential updates; it became the first major product shipped from the lab.
Business Model
Revenue Model
Electrobun and the core open-source projects are free/open source. Dash has a free local/no-account tier and a free account tier; it monetizes hosted services through Dash Pro, with planned managed Electrobun release hosting/analytics and cloud devboxes.
Pricing Tiers
One machine; local projects, terminals, browser, Git, local models, scripts and Local MCP.
Connect machines peer-to-peer with end-to-end encryption; includes Dash Web, synced notes, GitHub credential sync and supported encrypted account sync.
Adds relay connectivity, hosted MCP and planned Managed Electrobun; cloud devboxes are planned and billed by usage.
