Blackboard Technologies Inc.
Blackboard Technologies is an independent startup lab that builds products and the tools behind them, then shares useful foundations so other builders can use them. Its current work centers on Dash, a multi-machine workspace for people and AI, and open-source desktop application tooling such as Electrobun.

Products & Services
A desktop workspace for a user's computers and AI. It connects machines and brings together files, terminals, browser tabs, notes, Git, coding agents and local models; it is available for macOS, Windows and Linux, free to start and usable locally without an account.
An open-source, batteries-included framework for building, updating and shipping small, fast cross-platform desktop apps. It supports TypeScript plus Zig, Rust, Go and Odin, system webviews, optional Chromium, WGPU, native capabilities, code signing, self-extracting bundles and differential updates.
A small JavaScript/TypeScript runtime built with Zig and JavaScriptCore for Electrobun applications; it aims for Node and Bun compatibility while remaining smaller and application-focused.
Electrobun's polyglot build and workspace CLI for scripts, dependencies, toolchains, bundling, package resolution and releases across TypeScript, Zig, Rust, Go and Odin projects.
Market Position
Blackboard positions Electrobun as a smaller, faster, more integrated alternative to Electron and a more language-flexible alternative to Tauri: it emphasizes system-webview size, native capabilities, compact self-extracting bundles and very small differential updates, while offering optional Chromium and WGPU. Dash is positioned as a unified workspace for humans and AI across machines rather than only a local editor or terminal.
Leadership
Founders
Yoav Givati (Yoav)
Self-taught engineer and the founder of Blackboard. He describes 20+ years across early startups and unicorns, including roles as founder, CTO, engineering manager, principal engineer, tech lead and architect. He spent seven years at Webflow, joining when it had 12 people, and worked on the Rich Text Editor, Multiplayer, Asset Manager, Responsive Images, and data-integrity and migration systems.
Executive Team
Yoav Givati
Founder
Self-taught engineer with 20+ years in startups and unicorns; former founder, CTO, engineering manager, principal engineer, tech lead and architect; spent seven years at Webflow.
Founding Story
Blackboard was started as a self-funded startup lab with a long view: build ambitious products, create the tools needed to build them well, and share those tools. Electrobun began when Yoav was building co(lab) and found Electron's size, code-signing, distribution and update workflow too costly for a bootstrapped lab; he built an alternative to enable web-like shipping for desktop apps.
Business Model
Revenue Model
The lab is self-funded and releases much of its tooling under open-source licenses. Dash is free to start with no account required for local use; the site and documentation describe connected-machine and Dash Cloud capabilities, but do not publish a paid commercial model or revenue figures.
Pricing Tiers
Dash supports local use without an account; no detailed paid tiers were published on the product page reviewed.
