Bubble Group, Inc.
Bubble is an AI visual development platform that enables anyone to build powerful web and mobile apps visually without code, democratizing software development and making complex technology accessible to all.
Founding Story
Bubble was founded in 2012 by Josh Haas and Emmanuel Straschnov to solve the mismatch between the number of people wanting to build software businesses and the scarcity of coding skills. Josh realized this gap while working at CoFoundersLab and after building a custom software tool (KeywordSmart) for non-technical founder Jody Apap at Bridgewater Associates. He wanted to create a platform where people like Jody could build without an engineer. Josh began coding the project in 2012 and met Emmanuel, who was attending Harvard Business School. They met for coffee, Emmanuel joined the next day, and they bootstrapped for seven years, working from coffee shops and WeWorks in New York City, growing through word of mouth before raising venture capital in 2019.
