Founding Story
Clerk.io was founded in 2011 by Hans-Kristian Bjerregaard, who started his career working at Unisport, an online football retailer, as part of the early 4-person growth team. During his time at Unisport, Bjerregaard discovered that manual product discovery work was a 'growth killer' for the e-commerce business. He combined his computer science background with his e-commerce experience to create an automated tool that requires no maintenance for store owners. The vision was to create AI that works by itself without the need for constant tweaking or consultants, making life better for business owners, customers, and colleagues by creating great shopping experiences.
