Command-line interface tool that enables developers to perform AI-powered code reviews directly in their terminal, allowing self-reviews before committing code.
IDE integration (including VS Code) that brings AI code review capabilities directly into the development environment, catching bugs, security issues, and code quality problems before committing.
Enterprise-grade solution with self-hosting options, multi-org support, higher limits, SLA support, dedicated customer success management, and custom integrations including AWS/GCP Marketplace support.
Market Position
CodeRabbit positions itself as the leader in AI code reviews and the most installed AI app on GitHub and GitLab. The company differentiates from competitors (Graphite, Greptile, Cursor Bugbot, Anthropic's Claude Code) through: (1) Deep code understanding via AST analysis rather than just LLM-based reviews, (2) Standalone comprehensive solution vs. bundled features, (3) High signal-to-noise ratio with actionable feedback vs. spammy AI outputs, (4) Product-led growth with seamless onboarding and generous free tier, (5) Strong open-source community engagement, (6) Enterprise-grade features including self-hosting and compliance support. The company emphasizes code quality validation as AI code generation accelerates, positioning itself as the essential quality gate for AI-powered development teams.

Board of Directors
Founding Story
CodeRabbit was founded in early 2023 by Harjot Gill, Gur Singh, and Vishu Kaur after recognizing that while AI code generation tools like GitHub Copilot were revolutionizing how developers write code, the code review process remained largely unchanged and still relied on the same manual, slow, and error-prone processes used for the past decade. As developers themselves, the founders experienced firsthand the inefficiencies and frustrations of traditional code reviews and envisioned an AI-powered code reviewer that could save developers countless hours while improving code quality beyond what is possible with human reviewers alone and existing linting tools. After starting CodeRabbit, the company acquired FluxNinja, an observability startup that Harjot Gill had previously co-founded.
