Founder-operated complex-systems research and engineering lab. Its public project portfolio includes Healthcare Agents, Healthcare Data MCP, USHSO, systems-engineering repositories, and the technical infrastructure supporting AJHCS.
Open-access healthcare strategy publication and media platform co-founded with Syed Siddiqi. It publishes articles, podcasts, strategy insights, and books for healthcare executives, administrators, researchers, and emerging leaders; Cole is President and Board Member and designed and maintains its later technical generations.
An open-source Model Context Protocol server maintained in the ajhcs GitHub account that lets AI assistants interact with the OpenCode CLI and use multiple AI models through asynchronous task execution. It provides opencode, session monitoring, response, cancellation, health-check, and utility tools and can be configured for Claude Code.
Open-source collection of focused local MCP servers for public healthcare market intelligence, including facilities, ownership, quality, claims, finance, workforce, research, and compliance screening, with structured responses, source metadata, and local caches.
Market Position
Cole's work sits at the intersection of healthcare operations consulting, AI/analytics implementation, systems engineering, open-source research tooling, and healthcare strategy publishing. It differentiates from closed healthcare-data vendors and conventional strategy publishers by emphasizing source-visible evidence, fail-closed identity and uncertainty boundaries, human review, and publicly inspectable infrastructure; its practical alternatives include healthcare analytics/AI consultancies, commercial patient-access vendors, and other healthcare strategy publications.

Founders
Cole Lyons
Healthcare systems engineer and operator with a BS in Health Services Management from Thomas Jefferson University, an MBA in Innovation & Management, and an in-progress MS in Health Systems Engineering at Johns Hopkins. His prior work includes medical-assistant and population-health roles at Jefferson Health, Senior Engagement Partner at Jefferson Health Plans, and quality-management/AI analytics work at Penn Medicine.
Syed Siddiqi
AJHCS founding collaborator; an administrator in facial plastics at Jefferson who originated the journal's founding idea and led its early editorial governance, listing work, and sales relationship-building.

Healthcare systems engineer and operator with experience at Penn Medicine, Jefferson Health Plans, Jefferson Health, iScribe Healthcare, and Walmart; MBA from Thomas Jefferson University and current Johns Hopkins MS student in Health Systems Engineering.
Syed Siddiqi
Founder and CEO, AJHCS
AJHCS founding visionary and healthcare administrator in facial plastics at Jefferson; led early editorial governance, journal listing work, and relationship-building.
Founding Story
Cole's practice grew from a path through computing, biology/public health, clinical and outreach work, healthcare operations, and systems engineering. He joined Syed Siddiqi in August 2023 after Siddiqi reached out on LinkedIn about writing, helping turn the idea of an open-access healthcare strategy journal into AJHCS and taking responsibility for its operating, technical, podcast, and AI systems. In February 2026 he began operating Open-Informatics as a complex-systems lab after a health-system profile required more than 80 calls yet still produced incomplete, weakly sourced results; the lab's initial vision is to make evidence and research infrastructure inspectable and usable by students and independent researchers.
Business Model
Revenue Model
The public Open-Informatics model keeps core research methods and selected tools open while charging for hosting, implementation, custom research, support, and maintained enterprise delivery. Cole also routes commercial workflow-assessment and analytics inquiries to Access Red Team; AJHCS operates as an open-access publishing and media platform.
