Founding Story
Collibra began in 2008 in Belgium as a Vrije Universiteit Brussel-linked effort by researchers working on semantic web, ontology and semantic data integration. The founders aimed to help organizations create a common understanding of complex data and make data assets easier to find, govern and use; the company introduced its first end-to-end data platform in 2011.
