Products & Services
Browser-based document and text comparison platform with deterministic lexical comparison, optional AI semantic analysis, semantic document search, and support for text, JSON, YAML, XML, CSV, PDF, Word, Excel, URLs, cURL commands, and API requests/responses.
Programmatic API for comparisons and related operations, including POST /v1/compare, semantic search via POST /v1/find, URL/cURL loading via POST /v1/load, formatting via POST /v1/format, source-line mapping via POST /v1/locate, and a health endpoint.
Optional Chrome extension that opens DiffFind in a dedicated app-style window, restores and focuses an existing window, and can be configured for a self-hosted DiffFind instance.
Market Position
DiffFind positions itself against traditional lexical diff and search tools, including the class of products represented by Diffchecker, by preserving exact deterministic evidence while adding optional semantic analysis and meaning-based search. Its differentiation is breadth of formats (documents, PDFs, spreadsheets, structured data, URLs, and API content), a browser-first workflow, and automation through REST, cURL, and agent-ready functions.

Founder and maker
Independent software engineer who says he built DiffFind end-to-end, including the application, API, deployment, and public website.
Founding Story
Stephen Ince says he repeatedly encountered a limitation of traditional diff and search tools: they are good at matching exact text but can miss meaning when wording changes. He created DiffFind to combine traditional lexical/deterministic comparison with semantic search and semantic comparison, initially to answer not only what text changed but what changed semantically and where a document discusses a concept using different words.

Revenue Model
The hosted product is publicly listed as Free on DevHunt, while third-party launch coverage describes it as freemium. The public website and documentation do not publish paid tiers or usage pricing; the product also offers a REST API and a self-hosted deployment option.
