Founding Story
Seo says he wanted a self-hosted code-review tool that could use his own LLM but could not find one he liked. As a homelab user, he also found few review agents that worked with his personal GitLab, so he built Proval to support private infrastructure, local models, and broader Git-host compatibility; he describes the longer-term vision as helping people run increasingly capable local LLMs while keeping data private.
