DuckDuckGo
To show the world that protecting privacy can be as simple as closing the blinds, providing tools that empower users to take back control of their personal information.
Founding Story
Gabriel Weinberg started DuckDuckGo in his basement in 2008 after selling his previous venture, Names Database. Initially focused on providing better search results with less spam, he soon shifted the mission toward user privacy as it became the company's core differentiator in a market dominated by tracking-heavy competitors.
