Founder & CEO. A self-taught programmer, Steven started Goodnotes while he was a second-year Mathematics student at the University of Queensland, Australia. He built the first version of the app as a solopreneur to solve his own frustrations with taking notes on the iPad.

Steven Chan was a second-year university student frustrated with the inefficiencies of paper notes. When the iPad launched in 2010, he saw an opportunity to create a better experience and taught himself Objective-C to build Goodnotes, which launched in 2011.
