Products & Services
Unified, OpenTelemetry-native observability for high-cardinality events, distributed traces, logs and metrics, with fast exploratory querying and investigation.
Trace waterfalls, event-based analysis, heatmaps, BubbleUp, SLOs and fast queries across billions of log lines and high-cardinality data.
AI-native investigation and collaboration capabilities that help engineers investigate faster and resolve incidents with clarity.
Shared AI-assisted workspace for natural-language investigations, automated investigations, skills and collaborative debugging.
Market Position
Honeycomb positions itself against legacy monitoring and APM tools by retaining high-cardinality event data in a unified model, avoiding sampling and pre-aggregation, and enabling fast exploratory investigation rather than only predefined dashboards. It competes in observability with vendors such as Datadog, New Relic, Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana Labs and Elastic, while emphasizing OpenTelemetry, developer experience and AI/agent observability.

Board of Directors
Founding Story
Honeycomb was started by an ops engineer and a developer who encountered the same production problem but could not agree whether it was the application's or infrastructure's fault. They created Honeycomb from first principles to give developers, operations, SREs and now AI agents a shared, honest view of what software is doing in production, rather than relying on the assumptions built into legacy monitoring.
Business Model
Revenue Model
Cloud observability subscriptions priced primarily by monthly event volume and metrics data points, with enterprise volume discounts, add-ons, support and private-cloud offerings; customers can start with a free plan or request an enterprise quote.
Pricing Tiers
Free forever; up to 20 million events per month and 100 million metrics data points per month.
For production teams; up to 750 million events per month and 3.75 billion metrics data points per month; monthly or annual subscription.
Variable event volume, volume discounts, enterprise support/onboarding and add-ons; enterprise plans start with a base allowance of 10 billion events per year.
