Products & Services
API-first guardrails that screen user and external content entering LLMs and the resulting model output, detecting prompt attacks, data leakage, content violations and unknown links; supports monitoring, blocking and configurable policies.
Discovery, governance and runtime protection for enterprise AI agents and MCP-connected systems, including access controls, runtime guardrails, threat detection, data-leakage prevention and live action governance.
Continuous, risk-based evaluation and automated red teaming for AI applications and agents, uncovering security and safety weaknesses before and during production.
Expert-led adversarial testing and remediation guidance for AI systems.
Market Position
Lakera positions itself as an AI-native security platform rather than a conventional network or endpoint-security product: it combines model-agnostic runtime guardrails, enterprise governance and continuous AI red teaming. Its differentiation is the feedback loop between production protection and Gandalf's large adversarial community, enabling defenses to adapt to emerging prompt, agent and multimodal attacks.

Founding Story
Lakera was started in Zurich in 2021 by AI specialists who had built autonomous flight systems where safety, reliability and security had to be designed in from the beginning. They saw that traditional security controls were poorly suited to generative-AI risks such as prompt injection, jailbreaks and data exfiltration, and set out to build AI-native, real-time defenses.
