Market Position
LMNT positions itself as a science-backed, clean-label electrolyte brand that challenges conventional wisdom on sodium intake, advocating for 2-3x higher sodium levels than government recommendations. The brand differentiates through its high-sodium formulation (1,000mg vs competitors' lower amounts), zero-sugar promise, and rejection of artificial ingredients. Competes in the electrolyte powder market against brands like Liquid I.V., Hydrant, Nuun, Ultima Replenisher, Skratch Labs, Cure Hydration, and A-GAME Beverages. LMNT's positioning as 'the Salty Rebellion' appeals to the low-carb, paleo, and keto communities, as well as serious athletes. The brand has successfully carved out a premium niche with strong direct-to-consumer dominance while selectively expanding into retail.

Board of Directors
Founding Story
LMNT was born from co-founder Robb Wolf's personal health journey. Despite following a low-carb, whole food diet for years, he felt his performance was stalled. His coaches identified that he needed more salt. Wolf found that existing hydration products were too high in sugar and lacked sufficient electrolytes. This led the founders to begin making their own electrolyte blends at home, which was a messy and time-consuming process. Once the formulation was perfected, Wolf noticed significant improvements in his fitness, sleep, and brain function. The brand was created as a 'Salty Rebellion' to provide a missing link in nutrition by focusing on electrolytes, specifically designed to help people on low-carb or whole food diets and those who practice fasting.
