Mirascope
Mirascope builds open-source, provider-agnostic SDKs for developing LLM-powered applications. It aims to provide a lightweight, type-safe and composable layer that improves ergonomics without hiding provider capabilities or taking control away from developers.

Products & Services
An MIT-licensed Python library for calling frontier LLMs through a unified interface, with provider-native integrations, typed responses, structured outputs, tools, streaming, retries, MCP and composable agent primitives.
A TypeScript implementation with provider abstractions, structured outputs using Zod, tool and substreaming, MCP, provider tools, prompt versioning/ops features and multiple model-provider integrations.
A formerly offered cloud observability/versioning product for Mirascope applications; it has been discontinued and the company now focuses on the open-source SDKs and OpenTelemetry-compatible backends.
Market Position
Mirascope positions itself as an LLM 'Anti-Framework' or a Goldilocks/React-like layer: more ergonomic and type-safe than raw provider SDKs, but lower-level and more composable than opinionated agent frameworks. Its documented comparison set includes LangChain and PydanticAI, while OpenRouter and LiteLLM are cited as compatibility-layer alternatives. Its differentiators are provider-native support, transparency, composability and preserving developer control.

Founding Story
Mirascope began as internal tooling for a separate product because the available LLM developer tools did not fit the team's needs. The team open-sourced it because many other developers appeared to be facing the same problem, with an initial vision of a single, Python-specific abstraction layer that improved API ergonomics while preserving transparency, provider choice and control.
Business Model
Revenue Model
The current offering is an open-source SDK distributed through GitHub and PyPI under the MIT license. The previously offered Mirascope Cloud was discontinued; users can use any OTEL-compatible observability backend. LLM provider API charges remain separate from Mirascope.
Pricing Tiers
MIT-licensed SDKs; users supply and pay for their chosen model-provider API access and may connect an external OpenTelemetry backend.
