Its breadth, partner distribution and global payment-method coverage differentiate it from narrower on-ramp providers such as Transak and Ramp Network, while it competes in parts of the market with Coinbase, Banxa, Sardine and payment/stablecoin infrastructure providers.

Founding Story
Soto-Wright and Faramond started MoonPay to take cryptocurrency mainstream and democratize access to finance after seeing the complexity of buying crypto with fiat. They launched a minimum viable on-ramp in Tokyo in March 2019; an early partnership with Bitcoin.com was secured before the final product was built.
