Founding Story
Originally developed as 'crew-rs', the project was created to provide a high-performance, single-binary alternative to existing AI frameworks like LangChain, focusing on multi-tenancy, privacy, and low resource usage. It was rebranded to Octos in March 2026 to reflect its 'octopus-like' architecture of multiple brains/arms thinking in parallel.
