OutSystems
To empower every company to innovate through the power of software. OutSystems aims to fundamentally transform how enterprise software is developed by making software changes cheap, fast, and robust at any point in the lifecycle through AI-powered low-code development.
Founding Story
OutSystems was founded in 2001 in a garage in Portugal by seasoned IT professionals Paulo Rosado and Rui Pereira. They recognized that a large majority of software projects were failing to meet deadlines or overrunning budgets due to the traditional waterfall approach to development, which made changes increasingly costly in later stages. Their vision was to achieve a complete reversal of software delivery—making software changes cheap, fast, and robust at any point in the lifecycle, independent of application size. They analyzed the anatomy of software change to build a platform that would overcome the limitations of existing development methodologies.
