Products & Services
API-first content management infrastructure for websites, applications, and digital experiences; content is delivered through a CDN-backed API and can be used with a developer's chosen front end.
Reusable, developer-defined page sections that marketers assemble, customize, and reuse in a visual Page Builder while maintaining brand and code consistency.
Visual drag-and-drop page creation for marketers, with live preview, releases, comments/collaboration, and review-before-publish workflows.
Local developer workflow for modeling content and building, testing, and syncing slices and components with a codebase.
Market Position
Prismic positions itself between a developer-centric headless CMS and a visual website/page builder: its API-first architecture and framework integrations target developers, while Slices and the Page Builder let marketing teams compose branded pages without waiting for code changes. It competes with headless CMS platforms such as Contentful, Sanity, Storyblok, and DatoCMS, and with visual/site-building products such as Builder.io, Webflow, and WordPress; its differentiation is the code-defined, reusable Slice model plus reviewable AI-assisted content workflows.

Founding Story
Prismic was created by a team of seven people who were building websites for a living in an agency. They launched in 2013 with a product-led, self-funded approach to make website content more flexible and to help teams build and iterate on sites without compromising performance; the company later developed the reusable 'Slices' model and visual Page Builder to reduce marketers' dependence on developers.
