Products & Services
A research-first AI agent that searches literature, analyzes papers and user data, performs literature reviews and prior-art searches, drafts manuscripts and grants, and creates posters, presentations, reports, and visualizations.
Enterprise research workspace with automated literature reviews, custom AI workflows, structured PDF data extraction, report and presentation generation, grant-writing workflows, admin-managed access, SSO/SCIM, shared credit pools, consolidated billing, dedicated support, and integrations.
Collaborative workspace with shared paper libraries, team invitations, role-based permissions, PDF chat, literature reviews, shared notes and notebooks, and exportable research work.
AI-powered PDF reading and question-answering capability that provides explanations, summaries, extracted findings, and citation-backed answers.
Market Position
SciSpace positions itself as an end-to-end, research-specific AI workspace rather than a single-purpose PDF chat or general-purpose AI assistant. Its differentiation is the combination of a large scholarly corpus, citation-backed answers, literature-review and systematic-review workflows, writing and publishing tools, data extraction, and a unified agent that can orchestrate academic tools. Relevant alternatives include ChatGPT, Claude, Manus, Genspark, ChatPDF, Scholarcy, and QuillBot; SciSpace differentiates from general assistants through its academic data and research-specific workflow depth.

Founding Story
Chandha's university rejected his thesis for inappropriate formatting, leading him to investigate the broader problem of researchers spending large amounts of time formatting and reformatting manuscripts. He and fellow academic Shanu Kumar built Typeset V1 to automatically format submissions to IEEE journals; the product later expanded from formatting into a full research platform and was rebranded as SciSpace in 2022.
