Market Position
Relevance AI positions itself as a vendor-agnostic, no-code AI agent operating system that democratizes access to agentic AI. Unlike traditional automation tools that work well for rule-based processes, Relevance AI specializes in tasks requiring judgment and contextual decision-making. The platform differentiates through its focus on multi-agent collaboration, autonomous execution (delegation model vs co-pilot model), and the ability for subject-matter experts to create specialized agents without deep technical knowledge. Key competitors include Lindy, n8n, Langflow, UiPath, Automation Anywhere, and other AI agent platforms.

Founding Story
Founded in 2020 by high school friends Jacky Koh and Daniel Vassilev, along with Daniel Palmer. The company initially started as VectorAI, focused on vector encoding for recommendation systems. In late 2022, the founders saw the immense potential of artificial intelligence agents and pivoted the entire business model to focus on AI agents. They realized that traditional automation tools were hitting a ceiling because they worked well for rule-based processes but struggled with tasks requiring judgment and contextual decision-making. Their goal was to build an agent operating system that allows subject-matter experts to create specialized AI agents without requiring deep technical knowledge, ultimately democratizing access to agentic AI.
