Products & Services
Data curation and filtering tools that identify diverse, high-value and edge-case assets, prioritize what should be labeled, and use feedback loops and analytics to improve model performance and ROI.
Managed human-in-the-loop annotation for image, video, 3D point-cloud/LiDAR, semantic segmentation, object detection, object tracking and other computer-vision training data.
Managed validation and corrective-action service in which trained experts review model predictions, correct annotations, re-annotate critical assets, and provide quality reporting.
Generative-AI and LLM data services covering conversational AI, image/video captioning, LLM optimization, document summarization, RAG evaluation and synthetic-data validation.
Market Position
Sama competes with Scale AI, Appen, TELUS International, Labelbox and other training-data and model-evaluation providers. It differentiates through a vertically integrated, human-verified enterprise service; a claimed 99% client-acceptance rate; specialized work on difficult edge cases and multimodal data; data-governance and responsible-AI positioning; and a Certified-B-Corp impact-sourcing workforce rather than a pure crowd-labeling model.

Founding Story
Leila Janah started Samasource in 2008 after concluding that meaningful, dignified, living-wage digital work could lift people out of poverty more permanently than aid. The initial vision was to use the Internet to connect people in underserved communities—starting in Africa—to outsourced digital work, later evolving into ethical AI training-data production.
Business Model
Revenue Model
