Founding Story
Scaleway began in 1999 as Online/Online.net, providing web hosting and domain services in France. It developed into a cloud infrastructure provider and was rebranded Scaleway as Iliad expanded from hosting into a broad European cloud platform; its current strategy is to provide an independent, sovereign European alternative for cloud and AI workloads.
