Products & Services
Open-source workflow orchestrator and DSL for scalable, portable and reproducible scientific pipelines across local machines, HPC, cloud and serverless environments.
Enterprise platform for developing, launching, monitoring and governing Nextflow pipelines, data, compute and collaborative analysis across cloud, hybrid and on-premises deployments.
Containerized, reproducible interactive analysis environments with managed sessions, snapshots, cloud-storage access, credentials and collaboration.
AI assistance available through UI, CLI and MCP for pipeline development, launch, debugging, data interpretation and autonomous workflow agents.
Market Position
Seqera positions itself as a Nextflow-first, open-science alternative to fragmented workflow, data and compute tooling: it combines a widely adopted open-source orchestrator with enterprise pipeline management, data governance, interactive analysis, AI assistance, container provisioning and optimized compute. Its differentiation is portability across cloud/HPC/on-premises, reproducibility, data sovereignty and an open community ecosystem. Relevant competing categories include workflow/orchestration platforms such as Cromwell/ Terra, Galaxy, WDL/Cromwell-based stacks, Snakemake and Airflow, plus cloud-native bioinformatics platforms from AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure.

Board of Directors
Founding Story
Nextflow began at CRG in 2013 when Di Tommaso and Floden sought an open, scalable and reproducible way to run complex biological analyses across fragmented computing environments. Seqera launched as a CRG spin-off in 2018 (publicly announced in 2019) to commercialize enterprise-grade software, support and services around the Nextflow stack while strengthening its open-source community.
Business Model
Revenue Model
Commercial subscriptions and usage-based cloud/compute charges for Seqera Platform, plus enterprise licensing/deployment and professional services such as implementation, consulting, training and support. Nextflow, Wave and MultiQC are open-source/free software that expand the commercial platform ecosystem.
Pricing Tiers
Up to 3 users, 3 concurrent runs, 250-run history, 100 datasets with 10 MB size, 100 versions and 100 vCPUs of managed compute.
For R&D teams; unlimited concurrent runs and run history, with expanded Co-Scientist and compute capacity.
For strict IT/security requirements, including fine-grained access controls, identity integration, SSO, audit logging and enterprise deployment.
For clinical and manufacturing use cases needing GxP validation and 21 CFR Part 11/EU Annex 11-oriented controls.
No upfront commitments or minimum spend; network is pass-through provider cost.
