Originally created by Hayden Bleasel, Kibo UI was acquired by Shadcnblocks in October 2025. Shadcnblocks, founded by Rob Austin, operates the world's largest block library for shadcn/ui. The project is now maintained under the Shadcnblocks umbrella with plans to extend the library with hundreds of new components and patterns. The open-source registry centers on accessibility, composability, and real-world functionality beyond styling primitives.
