Founding Story
Founded in 2017 by childhood friends Eric Simons and Albert Pai. The pair had previously built Thinkster and recognized the friction of setting up local development environments. They built StackBlitz to allow developers to boot up full-stack projects in the browser instantly. The company faced a near-death experience in 2023 but pivoted successfully with the launch of Bolt.new, an AI-powered coding agent.
