StrongDM
StrongDM is a universal access-management and Zero Trust privileged-access-management company. Its platform combines authentication, authorization, networking and observability to provide precise, auditable, just-in-time access to modern infrastructure, while its Software Factory initiative applies non-interactive, agent-driven development to build software.

Products & Services
A platform for secure, auditable access to databases, servers, Kubernetes clusters, cloud resources and web applications. It combines authentication, authorization, networking, policy enforcement, credential leasing and session/query/command observability with just-in-time access.
An open natural-language specification for a non-interactive coding agent. It composes models, prompts and tools into graph-structured pipelines that traverse implementation, optimization and validation phases until convergence or termination. The repository includes the Attractor, coding-agent-loop and unified-LLM specifications and is Apache-2.0 licensed.
A self-hosted context store for AI agents with a DAG data model, blob deduplication, dynamic types and visual debugging.
Identity for humans, workloads and AI agents, with federated authentication and path-scoped sharing.
Market Position
StrongDM positions itself between traditional privileged-access management and developer infrastructure tooling: its Identity Firewall/runtime-authorization approach evaluates identity, context and policy at the moment of each privileged action, rather than only granting a session. In access management it competes with CyberArk, BeyondTrust, Delinea, Teleport, Okta and Cloudflare; Attractor competes conceptually with agentic coding/development systems such as Devin, Factory and other autonomous coding-agent orchestrators.

Elizabeth (Liz) Zalman
Co-founder and original CEO; previously worked with Schuyler Brown at Nomi after Nomi acquired Media Armor. She led StrongDM for about seven years before handing the CEO role to Tim Prendergast.
Justin McCarthy
Co-founder and CTO; Zalman's friend from high school. He remains associated with StrongDM's technical leadership and co-founded the StrongDM AI team in 2025.
Schuyler Brown
Co-founder; previously VP of Marketing at Nomi, where he helped build the IoT brand into an interior-analytics business. He has served in customer/marketing leadership at StrongDM.
Executive Team
Tim Prendergast
Chief Executive Officer
Joined StrongDM as SVP of Sales and succeeded Liz Zalman as CEO; he led the company through the Delinea transaction.

Founding Story
StrongDM began in 2015 after Elizabeth Zalman and Schuyler Brown's experience at Nomi and Media Armor. The original company was started to solve the problem of inaccurate data and later evolved into a universal, auditable access layer for engineering infrastructure. In July 2025, Justin McCarthy, Jay Taylor and Navan Chauhan formed a StrongDM AI team after observing that late-2024 advances in long-horizon coding agents made non-interactive development viable.
Business Model
Revenue Model
Enterprise B2B software sold through quote-based subscriptions/annual contracts for access-management, PAM and infrastructure-security capabilities; the company also publishes open-source specifications and developer tooling such as Attractor under Apache-2.0.
