Products & Services
Self-hosted/on-premise all-in-one synthetic test-data management platform that combines AI-generated synthetic data, rule-based generation and synthetic data masking in one engine.
Privacy-preserving masking/de-identification that identifies sensitive data, substitutes it with realistic synthetic mock data and preserves referential integrity through consistent mapping.
Generates, enriches and transforms data from scratch or existing data using formulas, patterns, mockers, business rules and constraints, including subsetting.
Uses AI and statistical modeling to learn relationships and patterns in source data and generate new, privacy-preserving data that functions as a synthetic data twin.
Market Position
Syntho positions itself as an all-in-one synthetic test-data platform combining AI-generated synthetic data, rule-based generation and synthetic data masking, rather than requiring separate tools for different privacy and test-data requirements. It emphasizes self-hosted deployment, privacy-by-design, production-like output, referential integrity and transparent fixed-fee pricing. Relevant competitors in synthetic data and test-data management include MOSTLY AI, Tonic.ai, Gretel and Datagen; Syntho's 2026 acquisition of the MOSTLY AI brand materially broadens its position in the category.

Founding Story
Founded in January 2020 by three friends who met at the University of Groningen, Syntho was started to address the conflict between organizations' need to use data and privacy regulations and other barriers that restrict access to real-world data. The founders set out to provide AI software that generates representative synthetic data without exposing individual records, enabling faster innovation and data access.
Business Model
