Founding Story
Founders Hamzah Chaudhary and Oliver Laslett met at the insurtech startup Cytora. They experienced the friction of maintaining business logic across multiple BI tools and data models. They started Lightdash in 2020 to build a BI platform that integrates directly with dbt (data build tool), ensuring that metrics are defined once and used everywhere, effectively 'fixing' the analyst workflow.
