AI-powered coding assistant that emphasizes spec-driven development. It creates structured, editable specs (PRDs, tech specs, wireframes) before code generation, hands off to AI coding agents like Cursor and Claude Code, and verifies changes to ensure they match intent and maintain codebase stability.
A structured system for capturing human intent as living specs, turning those specs into executable tickets, and handing off to coding agents. Designed for complex, multi-phase projects that break down into epics, tickets, and phases.
Real-time code verification feature that scans the codebase to verify every AI-generated change and apply course corrections so bad code never reaches production. Generates comments categorized by severity.
Market Position
Traycer positions itself as the orchestration and steering layer ('outer loop') that sits above commodity coding agents. Unlike tools like Cursor, Windsurf, or GitHub Copilot that focus primarily on code generation, Traycer emphasizes planning, verification, and intent preservation. Key differentiators include: (1) Plan-first approach with structured specs before coding, (2) Multi-model architecture using specialized models for different workflow stages, (3) Built-in verification to catch drift and hallucinations, (4) Integration with existing AI agents rather than replacing them, (5) Enterprise-grade security (SOC 2 Type II, GDPR). Competes with Graphite, CodeRabbit, and Greptile in the AI coding assistant space.

Founding Story
Traycer was founded in June 2024 by Tanveer Gill to address the bottleneck in AI-assisted software development that had shifted from raw code generation to planning and verification. Drawing on his experience as CTO of FluxNinja and years in the SRE/DevOps space, Gill recognized that orchestration captures more value than the underlying technology—similar to how Kubernetes captured value over Docker. Traycer was built to be the 'outer loop' for coding agents, providing an orchestration and steering layer that maintains developer control over high-level design decisions while automating low-level implementation.
