Founding Story
The founders were developers frustrated by poor developer experiences, high latency, confusing setup and infrastructure maintenance. They started Upstash to make serverless data infrastructure easy to adopt: managed availability, backups and updates, with customers paying when real traffic begins. They first launched a serverless Redis for the serverless/edge era, then expanded into Kafka, QStash and AI-oriented data products.
