Market Position
Webflow positions itself as the leading Website Experience Platform (WXP) and a pioneer in the no-code movement. Unlike simple drag-and-drop builders (Wix, Squarespace), Webflow produces clean, semantic, production-grade code that developers respect while being accessible to non-coders. The platform emphasizes visual-first development that bridges the gap between design and code, offering more power and flexibility than traditional website builders while being more accessible than hand-coding. Key differentiators include: (1) Professional-grade output with exportable code, (2) Enterprise scalability and security, (3) AI-native capabilities with prompt-to-production features, (4) Visual CMS with API access for headless use cases, (5) Integration with modern development workflows (React components, DevLink), (6) No transaction fees on higher plans, and (7) Strong community and educational ecosystem (Webflow University, 1,500+ Certified Partners). Market share of 1.2% of top 10 million websites as of 2025.

Board of Directors
Founding Story
Webflow was founded in 2013 by Vlad Magdalin, his brother Sergie Magdalin, and Bryant Chou. Vlad began the project in early 2012 while working at Intuit, using a $10,000 retention bonus and $15,000 in personal savings to fund initial development. After quitting his job, he recruited his brother Sergie in August 2012. Bryant Chou joined as the third co-founder in early 2013. The early days were marked by extreme financial hardship - the founders accumulated $30,000 in personal debt, lived on split $9.50 fajita meals, and worked from coffee shops and the Hacker Dojo in Mountain View. They initially faced rejection from Y Combinator and a failed Kickstarter campaign. A breakthrough came with a successful Hacker News launch in March 2013 that generated over 20,000 signups, which helped them get accepted into Y Combinator's summer 2013 batch. The company launched officially on August 5, 2013, and operated on seed funding for four years before achieving profitability in 2016.
