Cloudroom
Cloudroom is a cloud workspace for AI coding agents. It runs Codex, Pi Agent and Claude Code (and supports local/cloud workflows) in isolated sandboxes so work can continue after a laptop is closed, while users retain their own model accounts, session history and code.

Products & Services
Invite-only platform for running AI coding agents locally or in isolated cloud sandboxes, preserving sessions and history and allowing work to continue when the laptop is closed.
Desktop application for macOS and Linux that lets users start, follow and steer local and cloud agents from one app.
Open-source, self-hostable Rust core/runtime for running cloud agents and saving their history; licensed under Apache 2.0 and designed for a Linux VM with PostgreSQL.
Market Position
Cloudroom positions itself as a free, open-source and agent-agnostic alternative to closed cloud-agent products such as Cursor cloud agents, OpenAI Codex cloud and Amp. Its differentiation is support for multiple harnesses in one workspace, bring-your-own model subscriptions, retained/self-hostable agent history, isolated per-thread sandboxes and two-way Teleport between local and cloud execution. OpenHands is identified as another open-source/self-hosted alternative, while Conductor is positioned as a more mature proprietary Mac/team product with a paid cloud tier.

Founding Story
Cloudroom grew out of the team's experience with DeepAPI and Immortal Agents. After concluding that DeepAPI's traction was concentrated in web search and deep-research endpoints rather than an area where the team had a strong advantage, the team focused on two problems: coding agents stop when a laptop sleeps, and multiple local agents interfere with the developer's computer. Cloudroom was started to provide always-on cloud execution without locking users into one vendor's agent, model subscription or closed ecosystem.
Business Model
Revenue Model
Cloudroom describes itself as fully free and open source. Users bring and pay their own model accounts and coding subscriptions; Cloudroom does not bill for model calls. Managed hosting is optional, while self-hosting is supported by the open-source core.
Pricing Tiers
Free and open source; current access is invite-only/team preview and requires joining the waitlist or receiving an invite code.
