Gordon L. Hempton
Gordon L. Hempton is an individual solo developer/creator, not an incorporated company. He makes Codealong, a free, open-source desktop app for macOS and Linux that brings Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Antigravity and Cursor sessions across accounts and machines into one window, routes work to the right agent/worktree, and lets users monitor and respond to agents without switching apps.

Products & Services
Free, Apache-2.0 open-source macOS 13+ and Linux app that aggregates coding-agent sessions, routes prompts, surfaces approvals and questions, links machines peer-to-peer, and places sessions alongside worktrees, todos, boards and pull requests.
Free, open-source iPhone app that links directly to users' machines peer-to-peer to show sessions and, when remote control is enabled, allow users to answer questions, approve or deny calls, reply and start sessions; the website describes it as early and currently installed from source with Xcode.
Planned team service that will add a shared view of team agents and pull requests plus centralized management of people and devices; it is described as coming later and additive to the free local app.
Included tooling that lets agents read the board, inspect other work, pick todos, check account capacity and interact with sessions and schedules.
Market Position
Codealong positions itself as an open-source, cross-harness observer and router rather than a hosted agent wrapper: it sees sessions started outside the app, including vendor desktop apps and terminals, preserves each vendor's native harness, routes by work and account capacity, and offers approvals across desktop, notch, menu bar and iPhone. Its official comparison names Conductor, Emdash, Superset and Vibe Island as alternatives; it differentiates from Conductor and similar host tools by not requiring agents to run inside its window, from Emdash by seeing externally launched sessions, from Superset by automatic account selection and Apache 2.0 licensing, and from notch apps by starting/routing work as well as monitoring it.

Founders
Gordon L. Hempton
Codealong's creator and primary GitHub maintainer (ghempton). Spot's founder bio identifies him as co-founder and CTO of Outreach.io, co-founder and CEO of Spot, a former Microsoft SQL Server engineer, and a University of Washington graduate with double majors in Computer Science and Mathematics.
Executive Team
Gordon L. Hempton
Creator and primary maintainer
GitHub identifies Gordon L. Hempton as the owner of the ghempton account and the Codealong repository's contributor; he is also identified elsewhere as a serial technical founder, former Outreach co-founder/CTO, Spot co-founder/CEO and former Microsoft SQL Server engineer.
Founding Story
Hempton describes Codealong as a response to the difficulty of running many coding agents in parallel: numerous terminal tabs, desktop apps, multiple accounts and no single view of which agent needs attention. The initial vision was a readable, trustworthy, changeable open-source layer that observes the files agents already write, does not wrap or proxy them, and puts their sessions, approvals, worktrees, todos and pull requests in one place.
Business Model
Revenue Model
The local desktop and iPhone apps are free forever and open source under Apache 2.0. A planned Codealong Cloud service for teams is intended to add server-dependent collaboration and device management; its pricing has not been set. Users pay separately for their existing agent subscriptions and optionally for a TypeSafe key if they enable Jev routing suggestions.
Pricing Tiers
Free forever; includes the whole local app, every feature, unlimited machines/accounts/agents, Codealong for iPhone, updates, and Apache 2.0 source.
Coming later; planned shared team agent/PR view and people/device management. Pricing is not set yet.
