Founding Story
Highlight began inside Medal, Inc. (the gaming clip/social platform) as a cross-platform desktop AI assistant, then spun out as an independent company in October 2024 with $10M in funding. The team — engineers, designers, and researchers from Discord, Medal.tv, and Meta — reframed the product around team coordination, arguing that the real opportunity for AI is "not what it can do for one person, but what it can do for the space between people."
