Products & Services
Serverless cloud data warehouse powered by DuckDB, with hybrid execution across local and cloud data, SQL analytics, shared storage, isolated per-user compute, and usage-based scaling.
MCP-compatible interface that lets Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor, and other agents query schemas and data, create visualizations, and manage pipelines with traceable SQL and sandboxed compute.
Agent-built, live interactive visualizations and embeddable analytics experiences that persist in the MotherDuck workspace and can be embedded in SaaS applications.
Scheduled Python runtime for ingestion, transformation, replication, SaaS ETL, and operational data pipelines, manageable through SQL, the UI, or MCP-capable agents.
Market Position
MotherDuck positions itself as a simpler, lower-overhead alternative to distributed cloud warehouses for the large majority of workloads that do not require petabyte-scale infrastructure. Its differentiation is DuckDB-native performance, hybrid local/cloud execution, per-user or per-agent isolated compute, serverless operation, and an agent-first interface; relevant competitors include Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Amazon Redshift, ClickHouse, and PostgreSQL-based analytics stacks.

Board of Directors
Founding Story
Jordan Tigani saw DuckDB in action and concluded that its lightweight analytical engine could underpin a serverless cloud service. After Lloyd Tabb encouraged him to treat the idea as more than a side project and introduced him to Tomasz Tunguz and DuckDB creators Hannes Mühleisen and Mark Raasveldt, Tigani and DuckLabs joined forces; the initial team met in Seattle in June 2022 and developed a product initially code-named EasyQuery.
