Products & Services
Unified build, continuous deployment, preview, hosting, global delivery, security, and team workflow platform for modern web applications.
Automatically generated preview environments and URLs for branches, pull requests, and changes before production release.

Market Position
Netlify positions itself as a developer- and agent-focused composable web development platform that unifies code or prompt-based creation, previews, deployment, serverless/edge compute, data, AI access, and global delivery. It competes most directly with Vercel, Cloudflare Pages/Workers, AWS Amplify, and Render, differentiating through framework-agnostic Jamstack/composable workflows, deploy previews, enterprise governance, and its Agent Experience strategy.

Board of Directors
Founding Story
In 2014, Mathias Biilmann saw Git-centered workflows, modern build tools, and static-site generators changing how front-end developers worked. He and Christian Bach started Netlify around a simpler Git-based model in which a connected repository could become a website, abstracting away web-server complexity and making the web faster, simpler, and safer. The founders coined the Jamstack architecture to describe the approach.
