Founding Story
PyTorch was originally developed at Facebook AI Research (FAIR) in 2016 as a more flexible alternative to existing frameworks. In September 2022, Meta transitioned PyTorch to the Linux Foundation to ensure its long-term health, vendor neutrality, and community-led governance.
