Products & Services
Managed cloud database-as-a-service on AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, with elastic compute, independently scalable storage, high availability, notebooks, data integration and AI workload compute.
Distributed SQL database combining transactional and analytical processing, structured and semi-structured data, vector and full-text search, and real-time ingestion.
Real-time data platform release adding indexed vector search, hybrid search, free shared tier and on-demand GPU/CPU compute for AI and analytics workloads.
No-code data migration and CDC service for moving and continuously replicating data from Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL and other sources into SingleStore.
Market Position
SingleStore positions itself as a unified, distributed SQL platform for workloads that need both transactions and analytics with very low latency. It differentiates from warehouse/lakehouse and query-engine alternatives such as Snowflake, ClickHouse and Starburst, and from specialized operational or vector databases, by combining OLTP, OLAP, JSON, vector/full-text search and streaming ingestion in one engine; Crunchbase identifies ClickHouse, Hydrolix and Starburst as possible competitors.

Adam Prout
Database/software engineer and former Microsoft software engineer who joined the founding team to build the database system; he served as an early CTO.
Eric Frenkiel
Stanford engineering graduate and former Facebook engineer; founding CEO of MemSQL/SingleStore until 2017, later founder of Pomelo.
Executive Team
Raj Verma
Chief Executive Officer
More than 25 years in enterprise software; helped grow TIBCO Software to more than $1 billion in revenue and previously served as COO of Aptus Software and HortonWorks.
Nadeem Asghar
Chief Technology Officer
Technology and product leader with prior roles at Cloudera, Hortonworks, Morgan Stanley, Incentify, Capgemini and Lucent Technologies; has scaled startups to $1B-plus revenue.
Founding Story
Founded as MemSQL, the company was started by former Facebook engineers and database specialists who saw limitations in legacy big-data systems. Their initial vision was an in-memory, clustered SQL database that could handle high-volume OLTP and OLAP workloads together, delivering fast real-time analytics without complex, latency-prone architectures.
Business Model
Revenue Model
Usage-based cloud database consumption, paid managed-cloud subscriptions/commitments, enterprise support and self-managed/BYOC licensing. Pricing is based primarily on compute, storage and data movement usage, with volume and commitment pricing for production customers.
Pricing Tiers
One free workspace for evaluation, development and non-production testing.
Managed general-purpose production tier with read replicas, monitoring and 99.9% single-AZ or 99.99% two-AZ SLA.
Managed tier for customer-facing workloads with online PITR, Smart DR, audit logging, CMEK and enhanced SLA options.
Fully managed Helios experience in the customer's own VPC.
