Founding Story
Evan You started VoidZero in 2023 after recognizing that Vite's challenges reflected broader JavaScript-ecosystem fragmentation, incompatibilities, and inefficiency. The company was created to assemble a dedicated full-time team and build a unified toolchain around projects including Vite, Vitest, Rolldown, and Oxc, rather than relying on the sponsorship-based model used for earlier projects.

The company initially pursued venture funding and experimented with a mixed licensing model for Vite+, then open-sourced Vite+ and pursued service revenue through Void, a Vite-native deployment platform built on Cloudflare.
